Chasing from a summit ... but not activating?

#1

I’ll have an opportunity to hike several summits this weekend but I’ll be with non-ham friends/hikers so radio operation is not a big priority.
The radio will still be packed but with paltry whips only.

If by chance I am on a valid summit (and valid AZ) and I’m able to chase (and validly answer) a summit, will that count as an S2S?
How should it be scored?

Hi Mela,

Think of it as an activation, just one where you only make one contact. You can submit it as a S2S entry (chaser entry), and as an activator entry (although you won’t get points).

Hi Andrew,

I’ll keep that in mind!
