Boy, 11, dies after 200ft Snowdonia fall
Oct 26 2007 By Daily Post
An 11-year-old boy has died after falling in Snowdonia.
The boy, from the Liverpool area, was walking with his family and their friends when he fell 200ft close to the summit of Crib y Ddysgl, Wales’ second-highest mountain, this lunchtime.
His fall was broken after 200ft on a steep slope about 3,000ft up, although the boy suffered serious injuries.
Close to 30 rescue team members were involved in the rescue of the boy, who received treatment on the site.
Rescue attempts had been hampered with an RAF rescue helicopter unable to reach him because of his isolated position and low cloud.
