Amateur Radio Licence Courses in Cumbria

For anyone interested in taking their Intermdiate or Advanced Licence, or even know of someone that wants to get started and take their Foundation Licence, Workington Amateur Radio Club based in West Cumbria are holding courses shortly.

Foundation Licence Courses.

There’s quite a bit of interest being shown for this course so they are looking to arrange a weekend course early in either Jan / Feb 2012. If your interested contact them via the website.

Advanced Exam dates 2011

Last advanced exam for 2011 will take place on Monday 5th December at 7pm. Currently they have 3 candidates sitting this exam so if there is anyone wishing to do this course please get in touch immediately as the paperwork will be going to the RSGB in the next couple of days.

All Intermediate and Advance license exams are taken at the Helena Thompson Museum in Workington, West Cumbria which is a licensed examination centre.

Amateur radio examination fees payable to the RSGB are currently (Nov 2011)
Foundation Exam = £27.50,

Intermediate Exam = £32.50,

Advanced Exam = £37.50.

Weekend courses for Intermediate and Foundation normally have an additional fee of approx £30 per candidate to cover room hire and refreshments. There is no charge for the tuition itself.
